For all of you who asked about our fried pickles. Here is the recipe I used. They are kind of salty. I suggest you eat them with something, but Jason loves them just like they are.

Christmas Pictures
Friday, December 26, 2008
By the way...
I asked the children what the true meaning of Christmas is and this is their responses:
Trevor: "It's about Jesus being born and He was meant to die on the cross and become the Savior which is Christ the Lord."
Brittany: "It's about celebrating Jesus' birthday and giving other than receiving. Jesus was born in a manger so that we may not perish but have everlasting life."
Zachary: "It's a birthday party for Jesus."
I think they get it! :)

He is still a God of Miracles!
As you know, while Brittany was in the hospital this past March for an apparent flare up of her arthritis, the doctors diagnosed her with Crohn's. She had the radiologist, her GI and the hospital doctor to consult and that's when they decided to put her on Remicade. The GI then decided to do more extensive testing because he was talking about doing surgery. We have had a lot of people praying and we also had a friend stand in a healing service in Brittany's place. Well, I'm hear to tell you that the Lord is still a Lord of MIRACLES!!! The doctor called us Friday to tell us that after more testing they could find no evidence of Crohn's at all!!!!! They are stopping all further treatment! Praise the Lord. Just had to share with everyone! Thanks to all who have prayed for her and please help us praise Him now!

Arthritis Walk
The walk went really well. Now that we have stopped Brittany's remicade treatments she is doing much better. She stayed ahead of the whole team during the entire walk! Praise the Lord! It's so good to see her better! Thanks to all who donated in honor of Brittany. The arthritis foundation is a good cause. They also provide camp for the kids at the end of the summer.

Lizard Huntin'
Zachary has become obsessed with hunting lizards. He is out there from morning til it's too dark to see, trying to catch lizards. I thought I would post a few pics to show you his "catch". First let me explain the pictures. Lizards sun themselves on the back side of our house, the basement part that is not underground. This is the picture of the wall I am posting. These lizards are right below my bedroom window. He was so upset that he couldn't reach them that he asked me to knock them off the wall so he could catch them! So I got my broom and tried to sweep them off into his eager little hands. In the one picture you see him crying, it's because he didn't catch one of the lizards that I swept into the air. We have some of the fattest liards! Look at size of the one he caught! If you couldn't see it's tail you might think it was a frog!

Why did God make moms?
I received an email where a school had asked these questions to a class. I decided to ask my own children and this is what they had to say:
Why did God Make mothers:
Trevor: to have little babies and to take care of them.
Brittany: to have babies, give nourishment, to teach them not to disobey.
How ingredients did God use to make mothers:
Trevor: love, joy, and he mixed it up and put a little bit a peace and then made momma.
Brittany: sugar and spice and everything nice
Why did God give you your mommy:
Trevor: because he thought I would be a good son to her.
Brittany: because he thought she was the best mommy for me.
What did your mom need to know about your Dad before she married him:
Trevor: to know he was a good man and to know he loved Jesus and to know if he would if he loved mommy too.
Brittany: to know that he loved her even though she was not rich and that he would obey all the laws. To know that he would love his children and take care of them.
Why did they get married:
Trevor: because he loved her and she loved him.
Brittany: because they loved each other and they knew they loved each other even though they were not rich.(there is that rich word again) ;)
Who is the boss in your house:
Trevor: the oldest, which is mommy. And Daddy is boss too sometimes.
Brittany: Daddy, because he is the strongest and he would do anything to protect his family.
What is the difference between your mom and dad:
Trevor: one is a boy and one is a girl. One can reach the top shelf and one can't. They don't eat the same things. They are not twins, they fuss a lot over what to watch. They still love each other.
Brittany: one is a girl and one is a boy. One can feed her babies and one can't. (hilarious!) One can do their fingernails and the other one can't.
What does your mom do in her spare time:
Trevor: Talk to her children.
Brittany: clean house, go to granny's, take us to the park.
What would make your mom perfect:
Trevor: not take me to school every day.
Brittany: never take me to school, and go to the park more.
What would you change about your mom:
Trevor: never make us clean our rooms.
Brittany: make her hair blonde. (I have no idea !)

Spinning round and round......
Brittany was sick alot this week. I took them all to the park on Friday because they had a weather day and was not in school. She didn't play a whole lot and she didn't climb everything like she normally does, but she did love the merry-go-round. I watched as she went over and let down that long gorgeous hair of hers (she refers to it as "golden" brown) and then it started to spin. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back and let the wind blow. And for just a little while, she was a little girl with no problems, not a care in the world, just spinning round and round..........

Britt and the Bunny
When Brittany and I left the hospital we stopped by Walmart to drop off all of her perscriptions. The Bunny just happened to be there while we were there, so I snapped a quick picture of her with it. My children asked how they could thank Jesus for dying on the cross for them, they said He is not here for us to hug! I let them know that all they had to do was tell Him thank you when they pray. They were so precious! They both cried as they prayed, and I felt so touched to know that my children are already feeling Christ move on their hearts! Isn't HE wonderful! He gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we might know HIM!
Happy Easter!

Brittany is Home!
Brittany has been in the Children's Hospital for the past week. The week before she ran high fevers at night every night and then Friday started a rash. The rash got worse over Saturday and then Sunday morning her joints started to swell and turn blue. She was admitted soon after we arrived. They were afraid of Leukemia. Her platelets were so low. We knew that she had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was not currently on any medicine for it. After going through many tests and biopsies, they determined she also has Crohn's Disease. All of her test results are not back in but they did release her today after starting her back on low dose chemotherapy drug Methotrexate. She also received her first IV therapy drug Remicade. She will return every 8 weeks for the IV therapy. Possibly for several years. I want to thank you all for all of your prayers. Please continue to pray for her as some of the side effects are not nice. I am going to post a few pictures of her during her stay. Love, Lisa
